The Tourism Committee, in cooperation with the Hunarmand Association and the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, has announced the Uzbek Gift Contest to promote traditional handicrafts as modern tourist souvenirs, support the creative potential of artisans across the country's regions, and encourage the production of compact, high-quality, and affordable souvenirs for visitors.

The competition will be held in two stages.

The first stage is open to designers, who are invited to submit sketches, design concepts, and creative ideas for contemporary tourist souvenirs inspired by Uzbekistan's traditional handicrafts. The submitted works should reflect the country's national identity, be compact, visually appealing, convenient for tourists, and suitable for practical production by artisans.

The first stage will take place from 24 July to 16 August.

The second stage is intended for artisans. Based on the winning sketches and design concepts selected during the first stage, participants will produce finished handicraft items. The main evaluation criteria at this stage will include product quality, craftsmanship, national style, compactness, ease of transportation for tourists, and affordability.

The second stage will be held from 20 August to 20 September.

The competition is open to designers, artists, young creative professionals, and artisans who are members of the Hunarmand Association. Participation requires completing the online registration process.
